Islip High School

Dear Islip High School Students and Families, 

On behalf of the Islip High School (IHS) leadership team, I would like to welcome you to our school and to emphasize how excited we are to partner with you this school year. Together with our faculty and staff, we look forward to providing the best possible high school experience for all of our students. We encourage students to engage fully in their courses and to seek a balance between the academic challenge and the support that they need to be successful throughout the 2025-26 school year. At IHS, we are dedicated to promoting a growth mindset approach to teaching and learning consistent with our District vision. We hope that students will take advantage of extra help with their teachers and opportunities to meet with their school counselor and support staff as they navigate their high school years.

At IHS, we want students to explore their interests through our wide array of elective courses and extracurricular activities. Students have ample opportunities to get involved through our offerings in athletics, the arts, and community service. We encourage students to grow intellectually, to broaden their interests, and to become the best version of themselves. We hope that students will pursue leadership opportunities and participate through their grade level activities as well as via Student Union. We are committed to providing students with opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom that foster those long-lasting relationships with classmates that make high school so memorable.
